Anne Girl

**Anne**

I had two goals for my senior year of high school: ensure Green Gables would be my last foster care placement ever and leave small town life in the rear view mirror as soon as I graduated. However, I was not expecting the town Golden Boy to make it his life mission to get in my way. Gilbert Blythe was a thorn in my side from the very first day at Avonlea High School when he ran into me in the hallway, literally. I needed to win the Avery Scholarship to get into college and everyone in town knew that. So, why won't Gilbert stop getting in my way?

**Gilbert**

I had two goals for my senior year of high school: ensure my swim team wins state and get the new girl with red hair from biology class to agree to go out with me. However, I was not expecting Anne to be the first girl in Avonlea to be immune to my charm. Anne Shirley was stuck in my head from the very first day I ran into her in the hallway at Avonlea High School. I was trying to get her to give me a chance and everyone in Avonlea knew that. So, why won't Anne talk to me?

"There was such a range of emotions displayed throughout the story, especially coming from the FMC Anne Shirley. The intensity of her emotions stemming from her insecurities, her angst & inner turmoil, her heartbreak, her anxiety & nervousness as well as moments of levity & humor in the everyday situations was felt on every page. Add in tragedy, humiliation, & a myriad of other typical high school embarrassing situations on top of an already troubled past of emotions & you have that perfect storm of teenage emotions ready to explode at any given moment." ~Amazon Review

"I fell head over heels for this debut novella by Luci Taylor! I love anything relating to Anne and Gilbert! And this short story hit the mark for me! I loved how Luci captured all the things we love about Anne and Gilbert into a modern adaption with her own little twists on our favorite moments between this duo! It was refreshing and kept me wanting more and more! Anne still has all the spunk and mischievous nature that we love, while Gilbert is still the kind, sweet boy that you will love with all your heart. Their interactions were great and I look forward to more of them in book 2!" ~Amazon Review

"My daughter (11)  really enjoyed this book and is now taking it to school to share with her friends! She said she liked the writing style and that it was a book that she “really wanted to keep reading until the very end” not an “ugh I have to finish reading this” book (which may not sound like the highest compliment but I believe it is in 6th grade life, she typically only reads graphic novels outside of school and she enjoyed this and read it quickly!)" ~Amazon Review
